Swiss sportswear brand On recently secured critically acclaimed singer-songwriter FKA twigs as a creative partner. Promoting the range created by the collaboration, On enlisted Object & Animal to produce an invite-only performance by FKA twigs—simultaneously live-streamed to their social media channels.

Object & Animal

The Challenge

Object & Animal tasked Insert Productions with producing a live stream of the FKA twigs performance. We needed to integrate multiple camera inputs with overlaid graphics to create broadcast quality content.

Our Solutions

We provided main and backup streaming of the performance for On and FKA twigs’ official social media accounts. We supported all Object & Animal’s video streaming requirements, including routing cameras to display screens during rehearsals—enabling the producer and director to make key creative decisions.

Cameras

Insert Productions provided a camera integration package, connecting five client cameras to our live stream system. We also supplied, installed and operated Panasonic 4K pan, tilt, zoom (PTZ) cameras around the stage. These remote cameras embedded in the set helped ensure every angle of FKA twigs’ mesmeric performance was covered.

Live Streaming

We took overall responsibility for live streaming and recording the performance. Our engineers fed eight live camera inputs and an overlay into a Blackmagic Constellation 4K vision mixer, then used vMix to process the outputs in both 16:9 landscape and 9:16 portrait formats streamed live across On and FKA twigs’ social media channels.

Show Crew

Experienced and knowledgeable show crew were central to the success of the production. We provided a live broadcast vision mixer, who acted as the overall director for the live stream, directing camera operators and cueing up subsequent shots. An Insert Productions vision guarantee ensured all feeds and equipment were functioning as expected.
